I was involved with BPA for 4 years, primarily throughout my high school career. I entered high school with the intention to participate in DECA but my advisor, Mr. James Whitfield, presented the equally as great opportunities that BPA had to offer, and I was eager to dive in. I was especially intrigued by the large variety of competitive events that BPA had to offer as it allowed me to showcase my speaking and technical skills.
I think the best advice that I can give to a future professional is to have an open mind and don’t be afraid. Specifically, don’t be afraid to try new events and meet new people! For me, I was a little nervous when I began BPA because of the wide variety of events and the competitors that I was up against. Don’t worry though because everyone can be great and will do great things. Be passionate and success will follow.
