FLBPA State Officers 2019-20

Robert Skrypek  |  State President

Robert Skrzypek is currently a senior at Fort Lauderdale High School and is proudly serving as the FLBPA State President for the 2019-2020 school year. Robert has been a member for the past six years, getting his start with FLBPA as a Middle-Level member. He is apart of his school’s marketing and technology class. He has attended three NLCs over his past six years.

Outside of BPA, Robert is a volunteer with a criminal defense lawyer in Fort Lauderdale and interns with Shervin Jones’ District Office. He is also an avid cyclist in his free time and often rides over 150 miles a week. After high school, he hopes to attend the University of Florida or possibly another university out-of-state.

Robert credits BPA with not only sharpening his leadership skills but also believes the organization has allowed him to experience great things such as meeting new friends from as far away as Alaska. BPA has enabled him to learn new skills and reach once unimaginable goals. These prior learnings and experiences will not only help him serve as your President but also help him achieve change in his community. Robert is excited to serve as your FLBPA President and can’t wait to meet other peers that share his passion for BPA.

Paige Harvey  |  Vice President

Paige Harvey is an upcoming senior for the graduating class of 2020 at First Coast High School located in Jacksonville, Florida. Paige has been a member of Business Professionals of America for seven years. Her journey in BPA began when she was just a 6th grader. Paige originally began in keyboarding productions then she began working in a variety of events as the years progressed including video production, prepared speech, and interview skills. All of the events provided Paige some opportunity or another throughout her school career.

Although BPA has been a major part of Paige’s life, she has remained involved in various activities, organizations, clubs, etc. Next to BPA, Paige’s favorite organization would be Mu Alpha Theta, also known as the Math Honor Society. This is among her favorites because it revolves around what she would like to do after high school. Paige yearns to be a high school math teacher and someday a math professor.

BPA entered Paige’s life at an early age and through the years it has caused Paige to evolve as a person. Paige recently earned two summer jobs. She gives credit to BPA because this is the organization that set her up for the real workforce by aiding her in developing a good, professional resume. This organization also provided Paige with essential business professional mannerisms the led her the summer jobs.

Paige Harvey will be serving as your 2019-2020 Florida State Vice President and looks forward to a productive, professional year. Through positivity and good vibes all things will be attainable for Business Professionals of America.

Asharia Hostzclaw  |  Middle Level President

Asharia Hostzclaw is an 8th grader at Dillard 6-12 and her chapters 2018-2019 secretary. Asharia has been a member of BPA for 3 years and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society at her school.

Outside of BPA, you can find Asharia working in other organizations and extra-curricular activities such as the step team, church, and Middle School Magnet Program President of her school. Asharia will be participating in the 18 credit program and hopes to graduate High School by 10th grade.

After joining BPA, Asharia believes that BPA has influenced her to be a better leader and has helped her build on her team working skills. BPA has also opened doorways for opportunities that might not have been so easily provided. “As a middle schooler hanging with ‘the big kids’, it is important for me to keep a certain profile. I am extremely honored and ecstatic to serve as the Middle Level State President and share my optimism with the organization.

Jaanai Scott  |  Treasurer

Jaanai Scott is a current senior at Atlantic Technical College and Technical High School. She's thrilled to serve as your State Treasurer. Jaanai has been a BPA member for a year, but has quickly learned to love the organization and what it stands for.

Outside of BPA, Jaanai is very involved within her school and community. Jaanai currently serves as the President of Atlantic Technical's Student Government Association and is a cofounder of her school's Future Successful Adults of America chapter. She is also a founding member of the Coconut Creek Teen Political Forum, where she was responsible for securing sponsors for the event.

Jaanai hopes to attend either the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida with the intent to study Finance and Law.

Because of BPA, Jaanai has learned more about her career path and has had the opportunity to practice her leadership skills such as public speaking. BPA has opened to door to many great opportunities for Jaanai. As your BPA state Treasurer, Jaanai will continue to work hard to better our state organization.

Yash Vardhan  |  Secretary

Yash Vardhan is a Junior at Seminole High School and the FLBPA Secretary for the 2019-2020 school year. He has been a member of BPA for two years and is a member of the school’s Video Production Team in which he has placed second twice at the SLC. Yash also placed fifth in Fundamental Math Concepts at the SLC.

Outside of BPA, Yash competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics competition, National History Fair, Tae Kwon Do, and Soccer. He also enjoys traditional Indian dancing and playing the guitar. Additionally, he volunteers at the Orlando Science Center and regularly participates in local food drives for the less fortunate.

Yash believes that BPA gives students the opportunity to gain leadership exposure and various new experiences. BPA has helped Yash gain new skills for the workplace as well as tools that will help his term as Florida BPA’s Secondary Level Secretary. He also plans to attend Boston University or NYU and study business & finance. He hopes to one day open his own company.

Anirudh Vustepalli  |  Historian

Anirudh “Ani” Vustepalli is a senior at Seminole High School and is excited to serve as your State Reporter. Ani has been a BPA member for two years and is a member of his school’s Network Design Team. In his first year, his team made it to Nationals and the following year his team made Finalists at Nationals and hopes to improve every year.

Outside BPA, you will find Ani in his Taekwondo dojo as a black belt practicing martial arts. When Ani is not punching a bag, you will find him at Mathnasium, where he works as a tutor educating young kids. Ani hopes to attend the University of Florida next year.

BPA has taught Ani that there is always room for improvement as well as communication and teamwork skills. BPA has offered many opportunities and experiences to Ani that have helped him learn and believes this is his chance to give back to BPA community that has helped him grow.

Sequoia Taylor  |  Promotions Officer

Sequoia Taylor is a Junior at Jean Ribault High School in Jacksonville, FL. Sequoia has been a member of BPA for two years and served as her local chapter's treasurer for 2018-2019.

Outside of BPA, you can find Sequoia participating with her schools flag football team, listening to music and hanging out with her best friends Mya and Marlisa. She hopes to one day attend either the University of Miami or Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) after high school to earn a degree in Psychology.

Sequoia believes that BPA has opened many doors for great opportunities and experiences. What excited her the most about BPA is the collaborative spirit across the organization. Everyone is willing to assist in your personal growth/development.

Victoria Singh  |  Parliamentarian

Victoria singh is a senior at Hallandale high school and dual enrolled at broward college. Victoria is her chapters parliamentarian for the 2019-2020 school year. This is Victoria’s third year as a member of Business Professionals of America. She has completed all three years of the health science and business program her school has to offer and passed the industry certifications that correspond such as the EKG Technician certification, Small business and Entrepreneurship certification and Microsoft Dreamweaver certification.

Aside from BPA, you can find Victoria part taking in other extra curriculums. She is apart of the National Honor society, Mentoring Tomorrow’s Leaders, varsity volleyball, head athletic trainer, and works as a lifeguard. With all of these organizations and roles come leadership and the ability to manage time wisely and efficiently.

Victoria believes that all of these achievements and characteristics make her well suited to be Florida’s State Parliamentarian for the 2019-2020 term. She is very excited to be able to work with an amazing officer team to make Florida BPA bigger and better than ever!
